Vintage Board Game Art
I have a fairly extensive collection of first run vintage board games. Many of my themed games are based on television shows from the mid-century 1950's through the early 1970's. My collection includes boyhood favorites such as Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Combat, and The Rat Patrol. This TV show genre is considered by many to be the 'golden age' in the board games industry. Many family favorites were produced for the first time during this period by American toy company's such as Hasbro, Parker Brother's and Milton Bradley. Like many other vintage board game collectors, I find the art on these vintage games and their packaging to be both beautiful and nostalgic. -gp
"In the warm deep waters off Key West, an old Spanish Ship with its Sunken Treasure has been located. The players of this game are the crew of divers all competing for the honor of being the first to return to the Salvage Ship with treasure".

This particular board game is over 75 years old and in amazingly good condition with vibrant graphics. It has all the original instructions and wooden playing pieces. It’s interesting to think this game was published by Parker Brothers several decades before the famously found treasure of the Atocha by Mel Fisher in 1982. On a side note, I purchased this game several years ago not knowing that one day I would actually become a Florida treasure salvage diver. As a diver in 2021 I created a diorama of the ship shown on the box cover (see below). In fact, I draw much of my inspiration for my underwater themed treasure hunting art from my experiences on the treasure boats in South Florida. -gp
